The cult of The Dark One practice sacrifice as a way of offering tribute to their deity. The cult has a major stronghold located within an extinct volcano which conceals a sacrificial pyre to their dark god. The cult has flourished and now preys on local settlements to stoke the greedy flames of the pyre. Heroes are needed to put the cult to the sword and quench the fires of the pyre.
