Popularized in Japan in 2021 Schadenfreude is a trick-taking game that rewards players for playing the second highest card into the trick. Players also want to avoid collecting multiple cards of the same value otherwise they are discarded making this the trickiest trick-taker! The game ends when a player exceeds 40 points and their meeple falls and they fall to their death (metaphorically of course) leaving the second highest player victorious!
